COCO LOCO
Produced 2018, 3 week project
Coco Loco is a branding project from my second semester of my final year. The brief was to create branding and packaging for a new, luxury chocolate brand named Coco Loco. It stated that the packaging should reflect the heritage of the countries that the cocoa is sourced from, and that it should be bold and eye-catching. I set my own target audience of young adults (18-25) as that is an age group where people tend to avoid buying luxury brands as they are often students. This means that my packaging has to be simple and appealing.
I wanted my brand to be clean and easily recognisable. Therefore, the packaging had to be eye-catching. Initial mock-up designs proved that the designs still needed slightly more work and to revisit the finer details of the design in order to push them further. I considered many different combinations of line weights and gold before settling on the final designs that can be seen at the bottom of the page. Ideally, I would have had my mock-ups completed with gold foiling, but due to that being difficult without commercial printing, I created the gold effect with a paint pen and a digital gradient.
